Understanding Monotheism clearly in Islam

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Brothers and Sisters, Today you can clearly understand what is Monotheism in Islam. This is very interesting and valuable content in this period, so don't skip this, read till the end.

Monotheism is the Foundation of Islam upon which all other teachings and practices must be based. The strong word “Monotheismn” (Thawheed) comes from the root word Wa-ha-da from which we can derive the word “one” and is a verbal noun meaning “to make one.” From this perspective, we can understand monotheism in Islam is declaring the Creator to be one in respect to His Lordship, His whole right to be worshiped, and His divine names and attributes, as well as to negate any comparison between Him and His creation ( Allah Azzawajal ). Because of the Concept of Monotheism Islam is unique among all the religions of the world, Think about other religions, all of them devote some aspects of worship or divinity to human-created things.

Masha Allah Our Muslim Scholars have clearly expressed the requirements of Thawhid

( Monotheism ) as three Main categories, they are :

  1. Oneness of Lordship (Thawhid al-Rubbubiyyah),
  1. Oneness of Godship (Thawhid al-Uluhiyyah),
  1. Oneness of Names and Attributes ( Thawhid al-Asma’ wal-sifat).

The great Scholar Ibn Abi al-‘Izz comments on the idea which was brought by Imam Al - Tahawi,

Meaning :

The beginning of the Matter is Monotheism and its end too, meaning the oneness of divinity. Monotheism includes three main aspects: the first one is, Theology of the attributes (of Allah); secondly, the oneness of Lordship and clarity that Allah Azzawajal alone created everything; Finally the third, the oneness of Godship ( Al - Uluhiyyah ), which is His worthiness should be worshiped alone without any partner, glory be to Him and exalted is He, the ruler of this Universe.

The above three Categories are not Mutually Exclusive, but their meanings overlap each other perfectly. All three concepts are three different perspectives from which to observe Allah Azzawajal. However, all three must be present in our lives, inwardly and outwardly, this will help us truly submit ourselves to the will our Allah Azzawajal the greatest.

We can know Allah through the Names He has used to describe Himself in Holy Quran & Sunnah. Allah said:

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ

Allah, there is no God but Him. To Him belong the best names.
Surah Taha 20:8

Abu Huraira ( RALI )reported: The Messenger of Allah Prophet
( SAL ), peace and blessings be upon him, said:

لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ اسْمًا مَنْ حَفِظَهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ
Allah has ninety-nine names and whoever preserves them will enter Paradise
.

Allah Azzawajal has perfect names ( Asma ) and flawless atttributes ( sifaths ) that belong only to Him the greatest and not to anything else in this world. For example, Allah is exclusively the Creator ( Al-Khaliq ) in the absolute sense of the word.

All the other creatures who create things in this world ( Dunya ) only do so by the will and ability given to them by the uncreated Creator Allah Azzawajal. Likewise, Allah is exclusively the Most Merciful ( Al-Rahman ). Humans can surely be merciful too, but their mercy first originated with Allah Azzawajal. And, unlike the perfect Mercy and Love of the Most Merciful, the mercy of humans is always flawed to some degree. Allah is perfect, complete, and absolute in a manner befitting His majesty and to an extent that the human mind cannot fully comprehend.

May Allah Azzawajal Forgive us and Gift Jannathul Firdaws! Ameen !!
